One of the most popular types of dance worldwide is the salsa dance, which is a dance style associated with the salsa style of music. Salsa dancing is not just about having fun or burning calories. There’s this study, which can prove that its benefit can extend to lifting the mood of those who are experiencing symptoms of depression. A group of depressed people were studied and with salsa dancing they have shown positive improvements. It increased their social interaction which reduced their sense of isolation. It increased their self esteem as the dance provided them with a new skill.
