Many people do not know the difference, and that is okay because it is fairly new, between search engine marketing and search engine optimization.  search engine marketing is merely the case where you are paying to appear on a particular page. That page is with in a search engine. You are bidding against other individuals for particular keywords. When it comes to search engine optimization you appear on the same page but within the search results themselves. So in other words you are competing with others who want to rank for the same key words. So while both types of strategies are allowing you to appear on the same page they are completely different strategies.
