There are some moments of parenting that are really enjoyable.  Most of those center around the successes that I have had with my child.  Not to long ago she had come home excitedly telling us that she wanted to make an entry into this years science fair.  We were willing to support her and even worked with her to show her where she could find physics science fair project ideas.  She provided the work,  we provided the encouragement, and the school supplied the first place ribbon that she brought home at the end of the day.  It was an experience we will never forget.

I have been out of high school for a couple of years now. I decided against going to college right away because I was not sure what I really wanted to do when I grew up. But now enough time has gone by that I feel like I have a better idea. I have been looking into Accelerated Nursing Scholarships. I have been working since I graduated and have saved up some money, however it is not enough to pay for all of the courses that I need to take. I would like to do it quickly as well so I can get my foot in the door.

Studying for an Online Degree

Wednesday, June 10th, 2009

I really love my job, but it doesn’t pay all that well. I need to get a better job that will make it easier for me to give my family the things that they want and deserve. I am in the process of getting my mechanical engineering degree online as a means to this end. Hopefully when I finish getting my degree I will be able to get a promotion and stay with my company, but, if this isn’t possible, I will switch to another company that has an opening for the type of position that I am looking for.

Eulogy Speeches for Family or Friends

Wednesday, June 10th, 2009

None of us expect any family member to die, but as we all know, it does happen every day.  This is an emotional time and everyone is naturally grieving.  Being called upon to write a eulogy mother, father, sister, friend, brother, grandmother, grandfather, cousin or any family member is one of the hardest things a person will have to do in their lives.  The Internet makes it easier with sample speeches and guides on how to write these kinds of eulogies.  The copy can be altered to fit the situation.  Since these kinds of resources are available to anyone, there is no need to make it harder than it has to be for the grieving family.

Here’s a quick tip that will automatically increase your reading speed by 10 words per minute. Everyone usually does this automatically in their head, but the trick is to do it explicitly. You have to do it out loud, or in writing. Even if you just circle or underline some words on the page (instead of actually repeating them out loud),speed reading software you’ll still be much better off than the people who do nothing before beginning to read. If you follow this simple step - identify the topic and the question to be answered - your reading speed will jump by at least 10 words per minute right away. That’s absolutely guaranteed.

You Can Eat Healthy When Dining Out

Tuesday, June 2nd, 2009

It is common knowledge that eating healthy and maintaining a healthy weight are difficult tasks when eating at restaurants. Most people eat foods because of cravings and flavors, not as a means of maintaining health.cheese types Chinese restaurants are very popular across the country. They’re also known as some of the biggest health offenders. They provide all sorts of fried foods and some still use MSG. Common foods that should be avoided by the health conscious at a Chinese restaurant include fried rice, egg rolls, fried wonton, duck-based dishes, egg foo yung, and fried chicken. While Italian food tends to be one of the healthier types of restaurant food, it can be a nightmare for those trying to control their weight. Don’t even think about eating fried mozzarella sticks, pizza, or lasagna.

My Long Search for a Grandfather

Sunday, May 17th, 2009

When your family is as complicated and secretive as mine is, finding a long-lost relative can be tricky.  In my case, my grandfather and grandmother parted on bad terms, long before I was born, and rumor had it that he had traveled the world since.  My curiosity got the better of me and I began a search to locate my grandfather, but no one knew anything about him.  Eventually I remembered he’d been born in California so I tried a California Public Records search.  Sure enough, I found a record of him, living only three towns away.  When I looked him up, he was delighted to know me and, in the last two years, he has been a constant source of fun, not to mention some wonderful stories.

I think every little boy wants to become a farmer, at least that is what I wanted to do.  My grandpa used to take me to the chicken coop to help me gather the eggs and we even had some pigs too.  However, my grandpa’s pride and joy was his vegetable garden and he taught me a lot about it.  He always had a great field of corn, so I asked him how he did it.  He told me got some great growing corn information from his grandpa and has been doing what he said.  I really hope that when I get older I can be just like my grandpa.
