I am all for using bookcases as a means of storage as well as an element in my home decor. This also applies to decorating my office, of course! I strongly dislike cluttered surfaces, so I have a great many shelving units so that I have somewhere to display artwork and collectibles, as well as to have a place to store my books and work related papers. My desk can remain clutter free and I have ready access to everything I need in order to do my job efficiently. And in my home, I have lovely items displayed in among my many books.
