If you watch these home improvement shows on DIY or HGTV, they talk about $50,000- $100,000 kitchen renovations and really show some impressive transformations.   The problem is, the average homeowner can’t afford to do that and it wouldn’t make sense for them, since the average home value is just slightly over that!

The truth is, upgrading your kitchen can still be done for $10,000-$15,000 if you are willing to put in the time and sweat equity.   You may not be able to put in all commercial grade appliances, and custom cabinets, but by shopping wisely you can still get the look and feel of a $100,000 kitchen on a much small budget.
