This is not as difficult as it may seem comments Paul Watchorn, an expert on Bulgaria. At a talk given at the Bulgarian Property Finder offices in Elhovo, Bulgaria Mr Watchorn insisted that Bulgaria is no different than the United Kingdom, in as much as ‘you normally get what you pay for’. People seem to forget said Paul, that it is extremely difficult to get builders to do what you want in the UK. He went on to ask if anybody would phone a local builder in their home town, send him money, wait a few months and then go check the work. His audience seemed stunned at this, but one woman ventured “so what do you suggest”. Paul’s answer was, employ an expert that knows the area, knows the people and knows the legal system, but expect to pay a little more, you get what you pay for.
