Custom aisle runners have a story of their own. There was a time when there were no custom aisle runners or even simple carpets to cover the bride’s path to the wedding venue. In those days, guests used to arrive in carriages and track the dirt and the mud into the wedding hall. Somehow it was felt uncomfortable and unfair for the bride to use the same pathway and drag the hem of her dress in the mud. So, carpets were used to cover the path trailed by the bride. In due course, the pathway carpet turned into a custom aisle runner that looked gorgeous and also served as carpet. Though today indoor wedding venues do not suffer from mud or dirt, many brides use custom aisle runners to add that much-wanted “regal” touch to the wedding.
